Q.1.1 Ribble (2011) identifies nine elements that make up digital citizenship, encompassing the issue of the use, abuse and misuse of technology. Briefly discuss these nine elements.

·         Digital access- as there is more technology being created and becoming an important factor in our everyday lives everyone should have access to technology as it vital to have in a business and also creating opportunities.
·         Digital commerce-this involves selling and buying of products and services through technology. There have become many different ways of doing this and is now an easier and preferred way of purchasing goods online.
·         Digital communication-this is communicating through technology in many types and forms and those messages can be stored, for example, skyping, messaging, email, or just sending a voice message.
·         Digital literacy-“to find, understand, evaluate, create and communicate digital information in a wide variety of formats”.  This means that we will be able to see information in many different forms and we can see how reliable the information is. Everyone needs to know how technology works to in order to do well at their jobs and knowledge.
·         Digital etiquette- this is when you have to know what is the appropriate way to communicate when using technology, because it is so public. You will have to know who your audience is and how your posts will affect them in a positive or negative way.
·         Digital law-this is taking the consequences for your actions online whether they are ethical or unethical.

·         Digital rights and responsibilities-this is when we have the right to say and post what we please, however, they expect you to do this responsibly and appropriately. ·         Digital health and wellness-this is the physical and psychological effects digital technology has on people. This can include eye strain, becoming addicted, cyber bulling and stalking, etc.
·         Digital security- this includes making sure you take precautions when using digital technology as you could get cyber stalkers or bullying or people hacking into your accounts.
